Day 17: Hakodate, Japan
If Japan ever had a wild west, it was Hokkaido. Oh, all the classic movie stuff of samurai bashing each other with swords never made it this far north, but the image of the West—open spaces, places to disappear, actual land horizons (which no other island in Japan has)—lingers.
Day 18: Sendai, Japan
Sendai is a city in Japan’s Tohoku Region, northeast of Tokyo on Honshu island. The remains of 17th-century Sendai Castle, built for samurai lord Date Masamune on Aoba Hill, overlook the city and include a museum of historic artifacts. The Sendai City Museum focuses on the history and culture of Japan’s Edo period, and displays Masamune’s samurai armor.
Day 19: Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo, Japan’s busy capital, mixes the ultramodern and ancient traditions, crafting a city unlike anywhere else. In Tokyo, you can walk amongst neon-glowing skyscrapers and historical temples which make for a truly unmatched experience.
Day 20: Shimizu, Japan
In the shadow of Mount Fuji, Shimizu is one of the most beautiful ports in Japan. Walk through the pine groves of Miho, home to a 650-year-old Japanese black pine, or enjoy spectacular views of Mount Fuji from the lush, forested hill of Nihondaira. Take in the seascapes on a bay cruise, or learn of undersea delights at Japan’s first sushi museum, and get a glimpse at feudal life in Japan in 200 BC at the archaeological site of Toro.
Day 21-22: Osaka, Japan
Osaka is renown for its modern architecture, nightlife and delicious street food. The 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle has undergone countless restorations and remains as the city’s most historical landmark. Enjoy 1 night onboard Norwegian Jewel in port.
Day 23: Beppu, Japan
Beppu is located on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. Cast between Beppu Bay and volcanic mountains, it is well known for its large amount of onsen (hot springs), more than 2000 of them! Enjoy a nutrient rich bathing experience or visit Mount Tsurumi via cable car.
Day 24: Hiroshima, Japan
While paying tribute to the infamous nuclear attack that destroyed the city in 1945, Hiroshima is now defined as a beacon of peace and prides itself on its exceptional natural beauty. None more iconic than 300 cherry blossom trees in bloom at Peace Memorial Park and enjoy local delicacies.
Day 25: Kagoshima, Japan
This city is the southernmost stop on the country’s bullet train. It is commonly referred to as Naples sister due to the comparative climate, palm tree lined streets and Kagoshima’s version of Mt Vesuvius! Plus an abundance of hot springs, mud baths, and spas definitely promote the serenity and relaxation of the traditional lands.
Day 26: Naze (Amami Oshima Island), Japan
Japan’s southern islands are where many Japanese go for a tropical beach holiday. Meaning “big island,” Amami Oshima is one of the most popular, known for its turquoise water, white sand beaches and a unique island culture centered on a rich artistic heritage and delicious cuisine. If you have a chance, take in a performance of shima-uta, a musical genre featuring falsetto vocal acrobatics that originated here.
Day 27: Naha, Japan
Welcome to Nana the capital of the tropical Okinawa Prefecture. Nana is famous for the Shuri Castel, of the Ryukyu Kingdom & the birthplace of karate. The Tsuboya district is famous for its traditional ceramics & the main street Kokusaidori is lined with shops, restaurants & bars.
Day 28: Ishigaki, Japan
Immerse yourself in the coral reefs, scenic beaches and lush mountains. Search for local textiles, pottery, crafts and black pearls, and enjoy local meat-centred specialties in the town’s restaurants.
Day 29: Hualien, Taiwan
Hualien is the gateway to incredible scenery. Taroko National Park is home to lush forests, soaring cliffs and winding rivers. You’ll discover an abundance of wildlife including deers, boars, bears and birds spread throughout the park.
Day 30: Keelung, Taiwan
Welcome to Keelung! Absorb the ambience of the ornate, dragon-adorned Mengjia Longshang Temple or witness the changing of the guard at Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, a must-see site.
Day 31: Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Enjoy a refreshment at the former British Consulate, a landmark overlooking the bay. Head outdoors and view the contemporary sculptures at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts’ Sculpture Park, and for a spiritual experience, a visit to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Centre is a must.
Day 32: Salomague, Philippines
The waters off of Salomague port itself are clear and blue, but a quick taxi ride to nearby Cabugao will allow you to experience stretches of coastline unobscured by ships. Pug-os Beach, which is home to several beach resorts, is a popular option with white sands just waiting to be tread upon. Surf in turquoise waters or sip on fresh mango juice in a comfy lounge chair with your favorite book.
Day 33: Manila, Philippines
Known as the Pearl of the Orient, Manila is the urban hub of the Philippines’ 7,000 islands. Explore the markets and backstreets of Quiapo and Chinatown where you can find goldsmiths, herbalists, tea houses and shops selling moon cakes, incense, paper money to burn for ancestors, trinkets and all kinds of local curios.
Day 34: Boracay Island, Philippines
Little more than a speck off the northwestern tip of Panay, Boracay is the trophy beach of the Philippines. It offers an intoxicating mix of sun, sand and fun with hotels, restaurants and shops are scattered all along the beach.
Day 35: Puerto Princesa, Philippines
Pristine turquoise waters, massive limestone caves, rich underwater biodiversity, a 19th century Concepcion Cathedral, beautiful beaches and delicious food are all delights awaiting you in Puerto Princesa, Philippines. There is so much to explore and relish in in the beautiful, coastal city in the western Philippines.
Day 36: Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
The bustling city of Kota Kinabalu is situated in the northwest of Borneo. It is the perfect location to sit back and relax or undertake exhilarating adventures. Visit the Mari Mari Cultural Village or hike up Mt. Kinabalu whilst the stunning islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park are perfect for diving, snorkelling and swimming.

Muara is a town in the north-easternmost part of Brunei-Muara District, Brunei. The main attraction of Pekan Muara is Muara beach (Pantai Muara in Malay) along South China Sea.[13] The beach is about a mile long and consists of clear white sand. Amenities here include a well-equipped picnic area, a children’s playground, changing and toilet facilities, as well as weekend food and drink stalls.
